fusion beauty infatuation review

Bigger isn’t always better, but Fusion Beauty definitely thinks size matters when it comes to lips. The eight shiny stars of their new Infatuation line of plumping lipglosses ($29 each) are supposed to increase the size of lips and keep them plumper over time.

Remember Amplifat (here’s some info on it from an earlier review)? It’s the secret plumping sauce behind these glosses, too.

Fusion Beauty LipFusion Conditioning SPF 15 Stick Review
Fusion Beauty LipFusion Conditioning Sticks SPF 15 clockwise from left: Berry, Butterscotch, Buff

Ya know, it’s true what they say — there’s nothing like two Eggo waffles, a cup of coffee and a heaping scoop of Amplifat to start your day.

Yes, boo, Amplifat.

It might sound like something muffin tops contract (blast you, Nutella!), but it’s actually the star plumping ingredient in Fusion Beauty’s new LipFusion Conditioning SPF 15 sticks ($22).

I’ve tried three of the five little tubes of plumping pigment — Buff, Butterscotch and Bitten — and each one feels like moisturizing heaven on my lips, gliding on with a creamy, non-sticky texture that reminds me of oiled fingers on Alcide’s obviously waxed werewolf chest…

Wait — what was I talking about?

Seriously, a werewolf with a hairless chest?

Fusion Beauty gave them a light minty flavor and scent to go with their subtle (read: barely noticeable) plumping action. Speaking of that, they just barely tingle, unlike other plumping lip products that hurt like bee stings!

I also dig how relatively pigmented they are for conditioning lip balms, which isn’t to say they’re bright as heck, but the colors do — GASP! — actually show up on my lips.

lipfusion boudoir collection swatches review

Before the $29 price of LipFusion Luxe Boudoir Collection lipgloss makes you totally cranky (that’s Chanel territory, yo!), consider this: $1 of that goes to the Seven Bar Foundation, a non-profit group helping to empower underprivileged women to start small businesses through microfinanced loans.

What are microfinanced loans? They’re pretty cool. Read more about the Seven Bar Foundation’s work here.

Truth be told, I’d love to see LipFusion contribute more than $1 from every sale (while lowering or keeping the price the same), but I digress…

The limited edition line contains four shades — Vixen (a shimmery mauve), Lolita (a shimmery pinkish beige), Coquette (a shimmery pinkish coral) and Princess (a shimmery purplish hot pink). Today I tipped my hat to the one called Princess. :)

fusion beauty sculptdiva review
Fusion Beauty SculptDiva Blush in Crave

Back in the day (um, like, the ’80s and ’90s), most gals got their anti-aging benefits through skincare products, but today lines like Fusion Beauty are pushing the anti-aging envelope with makeup.

For the patient beauty lover, the company’s new cream-to-powder SculptDiva blushes are supposed to plump cheeks over a period of 28 days, diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles through more supple-looking cheeks.

Their not-so-secret ingredient? Amplifat.

Yep, that’s what they call it. :)
